llirik.com is the personal collection of music written and recorded by Kirill Kripak.
Kirill began playing guitar from 14 years of age on a bulky acoustic Yamaha on heavy brass strings. When he finally switched over to his
Red Gibson SG with the noticeably lighter strings, he was happy. Today though, he sees that learning to play on a heavy gauge was
important as it trains one's fingers more thoroughly. Without it, he probably would not be able to play the quick note jumps between chord
changes on such tracks as Where to Go.
The first recording done personally by Kirill was in November of 2003 before he had his electric Gibson. The recording was very crude,
as his only means to get the sound of his acoustic onto a computer were through an old karaoke microphone and the line-in on his computer.
Tracks were also crudely overlayed using the audio tracks of his film/video editing program, Premiere 6.0. This however was enough to
get Kirill's interest and he has slowly been recording his own compositions.
Very recently, a Warwick bass has been acquired and is being incorporated into new songs and adding new playing styles.
To date (March 29th, 2008) he has recorded 371 tracks, either by himself or with the person responsible for his playing, Fyathyrio's George Furtney. There are also a few instances of jam sessions.
