At first, llirik's tracks were recorded either through a poor karaoke mic or George Furtney's 8-track recording doo-hickey. Once
the red Gibson entered the equation, the mic was taken away and instead tracks were recorded through the line-in on the computer,
straight from the guitar, but running through a Fender amp that is still sitting on Kirill's floor. (see: past)
Tracks were put together using a fairly simple sequencer, Cool Edit Pro, some version or other.
Not long ago, tracks were recorded and sequenced using Apples incredible GarageBand 2. Now and again, access to a proper M-Audio unit was
available and was used, otherwise the guitar signal was fed directly into a PowerBook G4. Lots of toying with the signal strength's
was required to get a decent signal. The external amp was not necessary and the signal was pre-amped using GarageBand.
Today, there has been a huge overhaul on equipment and all recording are processed using a MacBook Pro or an 8-core Mac Pro. Line instruments are recorded through a ProSonus mixer using an electric effects pedal for guitar instruments. Drums are recorded through the same mixer using a mix of high-fidelity Apex, AKG and Shure microphones. You can hear the great throughput in the June 2008 sessions.
All other instrument tracks that are not live guitar are done using GarageBands software instruments, ranging from the Drum Kit
to the recent orchestral instruments.
